Health & Wellbeing Practices – COVID-19 Pandemic
At LotusRain Clinic, the health and wellbeing of our Lotus family, both patients and employees, are top of mind amid concerns about the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). We want to share information with you about how we continue to operate safely and effectively.
We’re also including information from James Robb, MD, a foremost authority, pathologist, and one of the first molecular virologists in the world to work on coronaviruses while a professor of pathology at UC San Diego in the 1970’s. Dr. Robb is also a published author on some of the earliest descriptions of coronaviruses.
In a recently published letter, Robb stated, “This virus is spread in large droplets by coughing and sneezing. This means that the air will not infect you. But all the surfaces where these droplets land is infectious — everything that is associated with infected people will be contaminated and potentially infectious.
This virus only has cell receptors for lung cells (it only infects your lungs) The only way for the virus to infect you is through your nose or mouth via your hands or an infected cough or sneeze onto or into your nose or mouth.”
Robb listed several ways to protect yourself, stating “These are the same precautions I currently use during our influenza seasons.” Those include:
- Avoid handshakes.
- Wash your hands thoroughly throughout the day and upon returning home from any location.
- Keep a bottle of sanitizer at the entrance(s) of your home and in your car.
- Use your knuckle to touch light switches and elevator buttons.
- Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or use a disposable glove.
- Try to cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you must.
- Avoid touching your nose and/or mouth.
- Zinc lozenges – The lozenges have proven to be effective in blocking coronavirus (and most other viruses) from multiplying in your throat and nasopharynx.
LotusRain Precautionary Actions
We want to make you aware of the extra precautions we’re taking to ensure everyone stays healthy during this time of heightened concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19). We’re monitoring information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and federal, state and local agencies to help ensure the actions we’re taking are in line with the latest CDC recommendations and guidance. We’re communicating regularly with our employees to keep them informed and to ensure their safety and that of our patients.
For the wellbeing of our staff, the following protocol is in place for each employee: Monolaurin, Argentyn 23 ( Silver), Vit D 5000iu, and other immune-boosting IV’s as needed.
Further, our staff is employing enhanced cleaning measures wiping surfaces down periodically throughout the day and hand sanitizers are available for use by both employees and patients throughout our facility.
Suggestions for Patients
- As simple as it is, we cannot reiterate strongly enough the importance of washing your hands frequently throughout the day for 20 seconds or more – ensuring palms, tops of hands and between fingers are washed thoroughly before rinsing off the soap. Or, use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer, though washing thoroughly is ideal.
- Avoid citrus, (Oranges are too high in sugar and feed viruses) processed sugar and sweets as a general rule.
- Stay home if you’re sick and keep your distance from sick people.
- Carry hand sanitizer in your purse/man bag 😊.
- Melatonin and Adrenal Support to enhance sleep.
- Drink lots of water – half an ounce of water per pound of body weight per day – being hydrated is necessary to flush out toxins and keep your immune system working at peak capacity.
Please visit our Immunity Booster page for further information on strengthening your immune system.
