Prolotherapy vs Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Both treatments promote and accelerate the body’s own natural healing processes to reduce pain and rebuild tissue.  Aside from how the procedure is performed, the difference between the two is the substance used for the injection.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Uses the body’s own blood platelets to remedy and bring relief.  The provider draws blood from the patient, separates out the platelets and plasma in a centrifuge, and then injects the platelet-rich plasma into the patient’s body. These platelets then go to work rebuilding damaged tissue.
